ICU Registered Nurse - (Experienced & Newly Qualifying) Band 5

Main duties of the job Our state-of-the-art Brunel Building, one of the most modern hospitals in Europe, accommodates 24 operating theatre rooms, with 72 single patient Medirooms situated in close proximity to the theatres. The Medirooms are arranged in 5 clusters over 2 floors. Working within our department, your main duties will include: Providing direct patient care in the medi-room areas, being responsible for assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of care of patients Identifying individual patient requirements and acting effectively on changing needs, liaising with and directing relevant staff. Organising time, equipment and staff to deliver safe and efficient patient care. Giving skilled support to medical staff and other members of the multidisciplinary team. Administering drugs and treatments as prescribed in accordance with Trust Policies and Standard Operating Procedures. Demonstrating effective communication within departments and multidisciplinary team. Advising patients, their carers and other staff on the promotion of health and prevention of illness. Recognising situations that may be detrimental to the health and wellbeing of the individual and institutes preventative measures. Identifying the priorities of care for patients, liaising with and directing relevant staff. Organising and participating in the delivery of high standards of evidence-based nursing care
