The Medical branch is medicine’s frontline. You’ll push yourself further, providing specialist care in NHS hospitals, on ships at sea, or in a field hospital

Wherever we go, we need the medical support that will keep us healthy. You could be the only Medic on a submarine, or a Biomedical Scientist on board a ship in the Gulf. There’s more to medicine in the Navy. From primary care in conflict zones, to specialising in radiation, you’ll experience things you wouldn’t as a civilian. We need medical professionals across all of our Services, which means you have the opportunity to work above and below the surface – and even earn as a Royal Marines Commando. Whether you join when you’re still training to be a nurse, or are already a GP, you’ll develop your skills in some unique and challenging environment.
