KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- The nurse will ensure compliance with the highest standards of clinical and professional care for themselves and the nurses they supervise.
- The nurse will undertake assessments of care which lead to the development of detailed and relevant care plans which enhance/maintain the quality of life and independence of service users.
- Acts as a primary nurse or key worker for an identified group of service users
- Participates in the facilitation of therapeutic approaches, which provide high quality nursing care to service users in line with clear and well-documented care plans.
- This role requires the integration into practice of clinical supervision, reflective practice, personal professional development, evidence and researched based care for themselves and the nurses they supervise.
- The role requires a personal and professional responsibility to be taken by the clinical nurse when providing or supervising the care given to service users.
- On a planned basis, evaluate the effectiveness of packages of care, which have been delivered
- Complies with and assists in the maintenance of an effective system for assessing, managing, and minimising levels of clinical risk
- Demonstrates a meaningful commitment to user carer issues, developing initiatives, which encourage their involvement in care planning and delivery
