We have an exciting opportunity following further Neonatal Critical Care Review (NCCR) funding, for registered band 5 nurses to join our collaborative, enthusiastic and passionate team in our Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) at St Michaels Hospital. Our NICU is a tertiary unit for the population of the South West Neonatal Operational Delivery Networks (ODN) and consists of a total of 31 cots including 15 intensive care cots, 8 high dependency cots and 8 special care cots. The unit also helps support our 16 cot Transitional Care Ward. We are currently part of a review of services across Bristol with the potential of our numbers increasing by 8 ITU and 2 HDU cots. The unit provides care for sick newborn infants with a wide variety of medical, surgical and cardiac conditions. We also provide a transport team for the region’s hospitals Newborn Emergency Stabilisation & Transport Team (NEST). Neonatal experience and neonatal qualifications are preferred but not essential. Registered adult nurses or midwives with critical care experience are also encouraged to apply. Please note this vacancy is not suitable for nurses required to complete an OSCE in order to fully register with the NMC.
