The unit also helps support our 16 cot Transitional Care Ward. We are currently part of a review of services across Bristol with the potential of our numbers increasing by 8 ITU and 2 HDU cots.
The unit provides care for sick newborn infants with a wide variety of medical, surgical and cardiac conditions. We also provide a transport team for the region’s hospitals Newborn Emergency Stabilisation & Transport Team (NEST).
Please note this vacancy is not suitable for nurses required to complete an OSCE in order to fully register with the NMC.
You will be expected to take the lead in the shift coordination of the unit. There will be an expectation that you have the ability to support and educate new and junior members of the nursing team, supporting them to develop into QIS nurses.
